Called To Lead

Called To Lead

Although the command to the Corinthian church to “act like men” (1 Corinthians 16:13) was written to all the believers at Corinth, the command highlights the fact that the men among them were to be worthy examples of strong, loving, and faithful leadership. Thus, a man who says, “I am not a leader,” and acts accordingly is either uninformed or living in rebellion against God’s design. Men were created to lead.

The exercise of biblical leadership in any environment is governed by the same character qualifications and expectations. However, the role of leadership and the exercise of that authority in the church is different than in both the home and at work. The Bible speaks authoritatively and clearly to all of this.

In a culture that is intent on limiting and even destroying male leadership, the clear command of Scripture is to swim hard against that tide for the benefit of families and the church, and for the glory of God.
